So What?

Prezi easily engages it's audience.  Using Prezi makes flipping through powerpoint presentations feel like a "thing of the past". It effortlessly creates smooth transitions that benefits the flow of your presentation. There is no longer a need for the "blinds" effect or "3D fold" transition between slides. Prezi delivers the information in a precise yet exploratory manner.

Allowing students to use prezi promotes student learning and encourages creativity. Personally I believe it's easier to see the "whole picture" because you can literally see the "whole picture" (by zooming out).

Implementing Prezi presentations meets the following iste.nets standard:

2. Design and Develop Digital Age Learning Experiences and Assessments

a.Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.

Now What?

Having used Prezi in my class I can say that students respond much better to Prezi than standard powerpoint presentation. Prezi is something different than what they are use to. This is because Prezi seems to be more like a interactive presentation rather than a stagnent slideshow.

Students have liked it so much that they have been creating their own Prezi for class assignments in which they have to present something to the class. An example of this can be viewed by clicking on the image. In this example students were told they needed to implement and document a procedure in which they could separate a substance, Because each group thought of different ways to separate the mixture it was incredibly effective to have students take pictures and create a Prezi that they could easily present to the class.

Because of its appeal and user friendly controls, I encourage students to use Prezi anytime they need to create a presentation. Many of them elect to use this without needing much persuasion. Using digital resources, like Prezi, allows promotes student learning and creates an engaging experience.

about

What?

At the core Prezi is an presentation tool. However, it's separate from other presentation tools in that is can become free flowing and more engaging. Instead of flipping through slides, Prezi moves and zooms to different areas on an infinite canvas. Program a set path in which you would like your audience to follow or alllow them to explore on thier own.

The Prezi on the right is one that I made about a Web 2.0 tool called Flubaroo. Flubaroo is a program that allows you to grade assessments that are created using google forms.
